Sprinkled with a little MLM intrigue and transvestism, this masterfully-crafted thriller presents a compelling premise, combined with Wister's backstory and subsequent action.
With vibrant displays of murder, mayhem, and human trafficking, Teton County is brimming with even more intriguing elements -- crooked politicians and more.
Traveling from Chicago to Wyoming and back to the East Coast, we follow Wister as he wrangles through a winding story, with splashes of subplots, all while on a mandatory vacation.
While it was a great read, it left me with a weird feeling. Is this a political/crime thriller with a superimposed (albeit subtle) romance? Or vice versa? Either way, I didn't like that part. I do my best to avoid romance, but somehow I keep finding them sprinkled in my thrillers.
I wasn't happy with the sappy feelings I was left with. However, the well-written, debut novel is captivating and unpredictable. I loved it!

After a career working in an international consulting firm and as a financial executive with two public companies, Dennis D. Wilson returns to the roots he established as a high school literature and writing teacher at the beginning of his career. For his debut novel, he draws upon his experiences from his hometown of Chicago, his years living, working, hiking and climbing in Jackson Hole, and secrets gleaned from time spent in corporate boardrooms to craft a political crime thriller straight from today's headlines. Dennis lives in suburban Chicago with his wife Paula and Black Lab Jenny, but spends as much time as he can looking for adventure in the mountains and riding his motorcycle.
