For a gang of old college buddies, the quaint resort town of South Cove, California, is the perfect spot for a no-holds-barred bachelor party. But for Jill Gardner—owner of Coffee, Books and More—this stag party is going to be murder . . .

After a few months of living with her boyfriend Greg, Jill is still getting used to sharing such close quarters, but she’s got no hesitation about joining him for a weekend at South Cove’s most luxurious resort. While Greg and his college pals celebrate their buddy’s upcoming wedding, Jill intends to pamper herself in style. But when the groom is found floating facedown in the pool, Jill must find the killer fast, or she might not have a boyfriend to come home to any more...
Killer Party is a classic cozy mystery. The female sleuth who happens to be relaxing on a weekend getaway finds a body in the pool. The story follows the attorney-turned bookstore owner as she solves the murder.

The dialogue is cute, humorous, and crisp, as is traditional in cozy mysteries. The character arcs are not as profound as I would have liked. However, I was able to get to know Jill as the story progressed.

I really like how I was able to solve the mystery as I read along, discovering evidence as Jill discovered it and having the same questions at the same time.

What I wish I could have seen Less in the story were descriptions of the other individuals in the story.

I would highly recommend this cozy mystery.

The story does have a life lesson deep inside I would be able to pick up.

Quite often when we get together with old friends, it brings up things from our past and leads heated situations. Further, sometimes we don't know the best way to deal with those situations and the possible secretes that come to light. This cute story provides a little bit of insight as to how to deal with these situations: always tie up loose ends and be honest up front.
